Creative residency in the context of the Zingaro Nature Reserve
What is the relationship between humans and the environment today? Tourists flock to beaches and airports in search of exotic destinations, while wonderful places in our lands remain unexplored.
The UddU association proposed a creative journey within the Zingaro Nature Reserve through the interaction between environment and art to rediscover the wonder of observing and respecting the landscape around us. During the residency, artistic workshops in theater, dance, and music were held, led by Enya Daniela Idda, Kea Tonetti, Manuela Lo Sicco, Sabino Civilleri, and Tivitavi.
A 7-day residency in which participants spent their days in contact with nature, creating a story together with the artists present, inspired by the places they visited. Through the artistic and performative media of theater, music, and dance, five artists proposed a journey to discover, experience, and bring to life the walkways and unspoiled nature of the Reserve. Together with the artists, the participants created a study for a performance on the theme of travel, freely inspired by Miguel de Cervantes’ Don Quixote, which was presented to the Reserve’s audience on the last day of the residency.
